BB-8 : One Last Photo Before We Go1

Farewell to year 2016!

That’s it! 366 photos completed!  A photo uploaded each day non-stop for a whole year!

It’s been a great year, photography-wise for me.  I was able to challenge and push myself with my creativity for one whole year!  There were times that ideas would come to me in bucket loads; there would be times that I would struggle coming up with one.  A couple of times the streak would almost end, but I hung in there and got to the finish line!

It was a great year for me with my Instagram account as well!  I never would have thought that I would gain close to 4,700 followers as of this writing.  I got a lot of kind comments about my work and even called some of those followers as friends.  Most of them are fellow toy photographers too and their own work inspired me to create even more creative content myself!  What astounded me that a lot of them are almost my age too.  I could count with my hand the number of toy photographers who are below the age of ten; most of them are grown-up like me.  I guess I am not the only mature person out there who still like playing with toys!

Sadly, I can’t say the same with my Flickr account.  When I first started posting my BB-8 photos there, I would get close to 1500 views per photo and maybe more.  But by the month of February 2016, those views dropped by half and by the end of the year, I could only get around 150 views.  I am not sure if Flickr’s popularity has waned, but I am quite puzzled by it considering I have more than 2,000 followers.

I will now take a break.  It’s been non-stop waking up early just to post a photo and write about it in my blog that I need to step away from it for a while so I can think of what to do next.  The whole “366 Days of BB-8” collection can still be viewed in my Flicker Album.

I also created a Facebook Page called “365 Days of BB-8“.  I will re-post my photos there on a daily basis for the rest of year 2017.

Thank you for following along with me on this adventure!

Until the next time then; talk to you all soon!

BB-8 : Somebody’s About to get Tackled!

Running away from some bruisers!

I had no idea how to feature those two Limited Edition ToysRUs Exclusive LEGO Athletes Minifigures so I figured maybe they’re on their way to tackle a Stormtrooper stealing BB-8!

BB-8 : A Pirate’s Life!

“Yo ho, yo ho, A pirate’s life for me!”

These pirate accessories were from a very affordable LEGO Juniors set called “Pirate Treasure Hunt”.  It came with the boat shown as well as the oars, pirate flag and the hats.  I’ve been wanting to own a LEGO boat for so long and was happy to find this little pirate set!

BB-8 : “Aren’t you a little short for a Stormtrooper?”

Maybe a little too short!

This dialogue from “Star Wars: A New Hope” delivered by an imprisoned Princess Leia upon seeing Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper disguise for the first time has become quite a popular theme whenever I feature Stormtroopers in my images!  This time, I thought of how it would be if my LEGO baby Minifigure would be in the mix!

BB-8 : Hot Rod Driver & Mechanic!

Ready to test drive!

I can’t get enough of how cool this Ford Model A Hot Rod build looks from the LEGO Speed Champions “Ford F-150 Raptor and Ford Model A Hot Rod” set 75875 that I got for my birthday!  It just looks great to me that I might feature it a lot!  Plus, my LEGO BB-8 Minifigure looks great wearing his racing helmet beside it!

Just to let everyone know: putting that helmet on LEGO BB-8’s is not as easy as it looks.  It was actually a really, really tight squeeze!  In fact, getting it off was a disaster waiting to happen, such as the possibility of the helmet breaking or the head print getting scratched!  But I am happy to report that, besides some very minor blemish, both parts survived.

Until the next time then; talk to you all soon!
